Present Focus: Life problems and skill building including abuse recovery and related issues and syndromes; post-traumatic stress disorders, panic disorders, dissociative disorders, depression, codependency, life management skills; individual, couples, children, and group therapy; family reconciliation and parenting skills; training to public and private groups including staff development and program planning; and clinical supervision.

Jan. 1998 Responsibilities: Evaluate the stability and strength of the parent-chi bond, home environments of both parents, support systems, references, past parenting performance and potential future parenting performance and make recommendations to the court as to the child’s residential placement and visitation. Required skills include report writing, mediation between parties or attorneys, understanding of the legal system, and ability to testify credibly in court.

2003 Responsibilities: Educate students in the Nurse Practitioner program about the dynamics of Domestic Violence. Lectures cover violence cycles and continuums, family issues, recognition and intervention, legal processes, counseling of victims, resources for abusers, and basic anger management.
